Josh White made an immediate impression on The Portugal Pro Golf Tour with a 2 shot win over 5 other players in difficult windy conditions at Morgado.

Bradley Moor, Jamie Abbott and Curtis Grifiths led after the first round with 6 under par 67’s which was excellent scoring over Morgado, the home of the Portugal Open Championship.

On the second day, Young Will Brown came storming through the field with a brilliant 6 under par 67 to set the clubhouse target at 6 under the card.

Brown was joined by Ben Stow and Joáo Ramos on six under par and with the wind getting ever stronger that looked like it could be the leading score at the end of the day.

White, after finding himself falling back to level par for the event after 6 holes of the final round and out of contention, found another gear and covered the final 12 holes in 8 under par and race to the top of the leader board on 8 under.

None of the leading group could get any momentum going with only Matt Ford scoring one under and Moore scoring level par to both finish at 6 under to make it a 5-way tie for second place.

Josh White now joins David Dixon and Sam Whitehead as a winner of a start in The Portugal Open Championship, to be held at Morgado in May this year.
