Ashton Turner won the Victoria Open with a score of 13 under par, made up with rounds of 65, 68 and 70 to win by one shot from Dan Smith and David Carey.

Ladies European Tour member Noemi Jiminez posted the same total as Ashton with rounds of 70, 66 and 67 but could not take any prize money because she was playing from the forward tees.

Turner jointly held the lead with Daniel Hebenstreit after the first day, with both scoring 7 under par 65’s and that put the pair one shot ahead of the talented young amateur Maximillian Lechner.

The highlight of the second day was a superb round of an 11 under par 61 by David Carey, that vaulted him into second place with a round to go but he still had Turner ahead of him by 2 shots.

The second day turned into a tussle between Turner, Smith and Carey right up to the final hole and it was only when Carey made a bogey and Smith failed to make a birdie, that Turner made it a first Portugal Pro Golf Tour Victory.
